ABOUT:

Michel Dominguez Beddome is a first generation, Mexican-American female filmmaker. She co-founded M&MDB Films with her husband Michael. In the last 6 years they have made 8 short films and a web-series along with their amazing community of filmmaking friends. Many of their short films have gone on to film festivals like the Indie Memphis Film Festival, Coney Island International Film Festival, Queens World Film Festival, Lady Filmmakers, New York Shorts International Film Festival, and many more.

Michel made her directorial debut with the award-winning horror short film "What's in the Woods?" in 2020 which went on to win “Best Horror Short” at Venice Short Film Awards, Vancouver Independent Film Festival, Oregon Short Film Festival, and Atlanta After Dark Film Festival.

She's currently in post-production on her debut feature film called, "Los Enfermos; or The Sick Ones" -- a modern day, gender swapped, Mexican adaptation of "Hamlet," starring Gerardo Trejoluna (Silver Ariel nominee for "Northern Skies Over Empty Space"), Leonardo Alonso (Silver Ariel nominee for "El Vigilante" and star of the worldwide Netflix phenomenon "Contraataque"), and Gabriela Núñez (star of the hit Netflix film "Pedro Paramo"), among many talented others.

Michel is a Texas born, Florida raised, NYU Tisch alum, and current New York City dweller. She grew up in the loving home of two Mexican parents who continually support my obsession with the arts and storytelling. ¡Viva Mexico!
